  MSDN TechTalks – Wed 31 Jan 07 (Post Event Resources / Materials) 

  A big “thank-you” goes out to everyone who took time from their busy Singapore work week to join us at our first full-day MSDN TechTalks event for 2007.  We hope you folks enjoyed the event from both an educational and WOW standpoint.  The .NET platform is full of great things to help you solve your technical & business problems.  I have personally been using .NET since 1.0 and I’m still amazed at all the cool stuff it can do. 

  All event slides, links and materials have been posted onto a single event site.  The response to this site since we announced it at the event has been so overwhelming, we will make sure it will be available for all future events that we run.  

  So remember, no need to scribble away during sessions to jot down all the resources we are showing… everything we show will be posted on the following site immedately after the event.

  Slides – Jan 07 MSDN TechTalks: 20 Mins on OpenXml 

  In my keynote segment during the Jan 07 MSDN TechTalks, I showed many OpenXml demos and briefly showed a detailed slide deck on the OpenXml format.

  The “bulk water image” .NET demo is below.  Be warned, even though my code is commented… it ain’t super spiffy clean.  It does highlight the key concepts of using .NET to work with OpenXml document packages and even includes a sample PPTX file with lots of images to play with.  Make sure if you modify the file, you “Save Out” the file or file corruption may occur.

  Outlook Vista Sidebar Gadget 

  A Vista Sidebar Gadget is a small app that runs in the “Sidebar” of Windows Vista.  The gadget’s goal is to provide a little tidbit of useful functionality.  Example… the Office team just released a “Schedule” and “Task” gadget which ties into Office Outlook.  Sweet.
